The Ateliê Nômade office has no geographical basis, that is, it is not established in a specific place, it goes everywhere and it reachs your house through the web.
Mônica is a senior architect, MA in conservation of historic buildings and places and PHD in public green spaces. These courses were attended in different cities - Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro, York (UK) and Paris -, combining her wish of studying with her curiosity about other places, people and culture. She has been working in different realms: teaching, conservation , interventions in green areas and architectural and interior projects development. Since 2014, life and work changed – she left Brazil in order to live in other parts of the world and to take care of the baby that was born afterwards. In this way, she experienced teaching abroad and also started carrying out projects by distance. In her work she always searches to promote the beautiful coexistence between the new and the old, by enhancing the existing and creating an harmonious new.
Luciane is also a senior architect and, with others partners, carried out an architectural studio for 14 years. She developed scenography, hospital, school and house projects. In 2010, her life changed: she left her studio, restarted studying music and shared her time between Sabará (Minas Gerais -Brazil) and Basel (Switzerland). In addition, she gave form to an old dream: the sustainable construction of “casa natora”, a collective house in Sabará,which construction reuses and recycles rejected materials, open to everybody who wants to participate. This turned out to be one of the main features of her work: (re)use the available materials and knowledge according to every especific opportunity.
Friends since high school, they always exchange personal and professional experiences and carried out several architectural projects together. Now, leaving abroad, they started to carry out architectural and interior projects by distance. It worked out so well that they decided to offer their services on line, by distance, but always close to you!
